OPEN CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Manager, Partner Marketing
Description
About Chexy
At Chexy, we're building modern financial tools for Canadians, starting with their largest expenses. We turned rent, mortgages, tuition, insurance and other big bills into opportunities to earn rewards, improve cash flow and get more from money they already have to spend.
We're the first platform in Canada that lets people pay nearly any bill with a credit card while unlocking cashback, points and financial flexibility. Billions in payments move through Chexy, our customer base is growing fast, and we've just relaunched the brand. Over the next 12 months we launch several new products, starting with our first credit card in Q1 2027.
We're backed by Khosla Ventures, Crossbeam Venture Partners and Venrex, and we partner with Aeroplan and other leading Canadian financial and telecom brands.
About the role
Chexy is hiring a Manager, Partner Marketing to own the partner channel in market: turning our partnerships with Aeroplan and other leading Canadian financial and telecom brands into offers, campaigns and placements that bring in customers. You report to the CMO. This is an individual contributor seat; you run the channel yourself.
The commercial deal is done before it reaches you. Your job starts at the signature: what we and the partner put in market, when, with which offer, in whose channels, and what it produced. That means a co-marketing calendar across every partner, the partner offers themselves (welcome offers, points boosts, cardholder promotions, co-funded referral offers) and the partner-side approvals that get them live.
The other half of the job is the partners. You are the day-to-day relationship for their marketing and account teams: the plan, the assets, the reporting, the quarterly review and the ask for the next placement. Partners should hear from you before they have to ask.
You run on agents. Partner reporting, approval and asset tracking, and first drafts of decks, briefs and partner email copy are done by agents you build. Your time goes to partners, the calendar and what goes live next.
We care about taste, speed and results.
What you'll own
Partner go-to-market
- Every partnership from signed to live: the launch plan, the offer, the assets, the partner's approvals and the date
- A co-marketing calendar across all partners: who is in market when, with what, so partner moments land on top of our launches rather than against them
- Partner offers end to end: mechanics, terms, the landing page (with the Senior Brand Designer) and the handoff to lifecycle for the existing base
Partner channels
- Placements in partners' channels: emails, app and web placements, cardholder communications, events and content
- Co-branded pages and the creative partners run on our behalf, inside their brand rules and ours
Partner relationships
- The day-to-day relationship with each partner's marketing and account teams: the plan, the asks, the follow-through
- Partner reporting: a monthly performance read and a quarterly review every partner gets without asking, and the case for the next placement
- What partners' customers need to see before they sign up, fed back to brand and product
Pipeline
- The next co-marketing partners: loyalty programs, card issuers, telcos and the brands our customers already pay through Chexy. You find and qualify them and build the case; commercial terms are closed with the CMO and the founders
Measurement
- Partner-sourced signups, activation and CAC per partner and per campaign, against what paid delivers
- The monthly partner read to the CMO: what worked, what didn't, what's next
Agents
- Your own agents: partner reporting, approval and asset tracking, offer monitoring, first drafts of partner decks, briefs and email copy
Compliance and approvals
- Every co-marketing claim passes our review and the partner's. You build the templates and the rulebook so our side takes days, and you know each partner's process well enough to plan around it
What success looks like
Twelve months in:
- Every signed partnership is live in market within weeks of signing, with a calendar of placements the partner has committed to for the next two quarters
- Partner-sourced signups are a meaningful, measured share of new customers, tracked per partner, with CAC at or below what paid delivers
- At least two new co-marketing partners you found and qualified are signed and live
- The credit card launched with partner activations live on day one
- Partners get their numbers from us before they ask, and at least one has expanded its placement because of them
- A partner campaign goes from brief to live in weeks, not quarters, and the approvals rulebook is written
- Agents produce the partner reporting and the first drafts; your time goes to partners and what ships next
What we're looking for
- 4+ years in partner marketing, co-marketing, loyalty marketing or partnerships at a consumer brand, fintech, loyalty program, card issuer or telco
- You have taken a partnership from signed contract to live campaign and can show what it produced: signups, activations, points or revenue
- You have managed partners that were bigger and slower than you (a bank, an airline, a telco) and still shipped on a date
- You write well: the partner deck, the brief, the email a partner sends to its customers on our behalf, the one-pager that gets a bank's brand team to yes
- You are organized across many partners at once: calendars, approvals, assets, terms, deadlines, nothing dropped
- You own your numbers: you can read partner performance in BigQuery or equivalent, and you build your own reporting and automations (Zapier, n8n, Python, LLM APIs)
- You can be the single owner of a channel: no team under you, you run the campaigns yourself
Strong plus: loyalty program or card issuer co-marketing experience; Canadian consumer market experience; a regulated or claims-sensitive category (fintech, telco, insurance); French.
This probably isn't the role for you if
- You want to negotiate deals rather than make them work in market
- Partner marketing to you means an MDF budget and a partner portal
- A partner's six-week approval cycle is the reason the campaign slipped
- You need an agency or a team to get a campaign live
- AI on your resume means using ChatGPT for emails
- You can't say what your last partner campaign produced
Why join Chexy?
- Own the partner channel: Aeroplan and leading Canadian financial and telecom brands, one owner, no committee
- Partners are how Chexy grew: they have been part of the story since day one, and this seat turns the channel into a system
- Launch a credit card with partners behind it: our first card ships in Q1 2027
- Work the way partner marketing is going to work: agents on reporting and drafts, you on partners and decisions
- Work with the CMO and the founders: small team, fast decisions
- Equity: meaningful equity in a high-growth fintech
- Toronto office: we work in-office 5 days a week
How we hire
We keep our hiring process clear and human. You'll go through a mix of conversational interviews and practical discussions designed to show how you think, what you've built and how you work with others. Expect to walk us through a partnership you took from signed to live and what it produced, a partner approval you got unstuck and how, and an automation or agent you built that ran without you.
We use AI tools to help us organize and review applications; every decision about who we interview and who we hire is made by a person. This posting is for an existing vacancy. If you interview with us, we'll let you know within days of your last interview whether a decision has been made.
Chexy is an equal opportunity employer. If you require any accommodations or support during the hiring process, let us know and we'll do our best to help.
